Hi, I'm Raj Shekhar, and I work with social and development organisations to think about communication not as an afterthought, but as a strategic function.
 

Over the years, I’ve collaborated with grassroots collectives, NGOs, funders, and institutions across India and Southeast Asia, helping them translate complex, sensitive work into communication that is ethical, intentional, and rooted in real impact.
 

My practice sits at the intersection of documentary filmmaking, visual storytelling, and communication strategy. I’m particularly interested in how organisations build trust through narrative; how stories are told without extraction; and how communication can strengthen systems rather than just showcase outcomes.
 

I’ve worked extensively on themes of gender, youth leadership, education, labour, and rights-based movements, often in close collaboration with communities and program teams. Whether it’s a short film, a long-term documentation process, or a communication rethink, my focus remains the same: clarity, care, and context.
